Shortly after Bozizé seized power, the Central African Republic Bush War began with the rebellion by the Union of Democratic Forces for Unity (UFDR), led by Michel Djotodia.
Bozizé was forced to flee the country after being overthrown by Djotodia in a coup d'état in 2013.
