  1. Previews on hover, and articles in Ukrainian

    • Map
    • Rulers and reigns
    • Names and languages
    • Design and reading

Rest the pointer on anything the atlas draws to see what it is, and read the Ukrainian Wikipedia article wherever there is one.

    • Hover over a bar on the timeline, or a marker or a state on the map, and a card previews it: what it is, its dates, one line of context and the opening of its article.
    • An English · Українська switch over the article reads Ukrainian Wikipedia wherever it has the article, and says so where it does not. Ukrainian Wikipedia is often far fuller on the steppe and on Rus’.
    • “Ruled by” now names who ruled in the year on screen: Ukraine in 2022 reads Volodymyr Zelenskyy, not Leonid Kravchuk.
    • A border drawn for a people rather than a state, such as Cliopatria’s Scythia, now reads “borders first mapped” and “borders last mapped” instead of a founding and an end it never had.
